Selected properties of our industrial adhesives & sealants
In the case of high power densities in components and therefore any resulting hot spots with a high temperature load, sufficient thermal conductivity of the adhesive used should be ensured. Our Novasil® adhesives can optimally dissipate the heat in the components, because, depending on the product and application, they have different conductivity so that the service life of the components is not negatively impacted by the higher power densities.
High temperature resistance
Applications with high thermal loads require materials that withstand these loads without compromising their properties. By using high temperature resistant adhesives, the installed components can be permanently functionally connected to each other and protected from high temperature fluctuations. Our high temperature resistant Novasil® adhesives have different temperature resistances of up to 250°C so that we are sure to find the right product for your application.
Depending on the application, there are different requirements for the reactivity of the adhesives used. They must have a quick skin-forming time, for example. Some adhesives of our standard product range are therefore already available ex works with different pot lives and fast skin-forming times so that the handling time can be perfectly adapted to the present application.
Adhesives must be able to compensate for stresses that occur in components. That is why the mechanical properties of the adhesives or the end state after curing play an important role when selecting the right product. Our product range has adhesives with different shore A hardness grades to cover a wide range of applications.
Adhesives must have self-extinguishing properties in many electronic applications. Fire tests, for example, define by category (V-0, V-1, V-2) a certain gradation over time in which the self-extinguishing must occur. Special additives and fillers in our Novasil® silicones improve the fire behaviour in order to fulfil the ULV criteria.
The adhesion is composed of a physical interaction, chemical bond and interlocking between two substrates. Our Novasil® adhesives have a long-term stable adhesion and permanently protect components from environmental influences. They also have a good self-adhesion to many surfaces.
Novasil® sealants not only protect the components from damage, such as the tearing out of fine wires or connections, but the connections also remain stable under harsh environmental conditions. This is also advantageous for materials with different expansion during temperature fluctuations. With our Novasil® sealants, we have reliable elastic products in our product range.
1-component or 2-component systems
Our product range of Novasil® adhesives has both 1-component and 2-component adhesives. The product selection should be done depending on the respective application and the desired duration until functional strength is reached. One clear advantage of 2-component adhesives, for example, is their quick curing, which occurs within a set defined time regardless of the adhesive dimensioning.
