At OTTO, we track and analyze our greenhouse gas emissions and develop measures to reduce them. Our long-term goal is to continuously reduce our company’s emissions and further develop our climate strategy.
The effects of climate change impact the entire value chain—from raw material extraction to the use of our products. High-performance raw materials open up opportunities for innovative developments that are both environmentally sound and technically sophisticated. At the same time, greenhouse gas emissions play a central role, particularly those from upstream processes. Our focus is on understanding and reducing these emissions and promoting climate-friendly solutions for the long term.
Our products are used in demanding applications across trade and industry—and as such, they play a crucial role in ensuring safety, durability, and technical reliability. As we continue to develop them, we make sure to balance environmental impact with technical quality. Circular economy poses a particular challenge in our industry due to the material properties of technical adhesives and sealants. Managing production waste and recycling end-of-life materials requires innovative solutions and advanced technologies. At the same time, sustainable procurement is essential, particularly in light of volatile raw material markets and limited availability. That is why we are working to systematically analyze our use of resources and further develop ways to use them more efficiently and improve recycling approaches.
